PART II:  SECONDARY ORGANIZATIONS

I. IDENTIFYING DATA:

Common Title:  JAR

Title:  Juventud Anticomunista Revolucionaria
           Revolutionary Anti-Communist Youth

Political:  Anti-CASTRO organizations active in sabotage and guerrilla warfare.  Want return to 1940 Constitution.  Member of P-GCC.

Leading Personalities:  In U. S.:  Julio A. GARCERAN (son of Dr. Julio GARCERAN De Vall), Rafael W. ARRAZCAETA, Danilo BAEZA, Jose R. EGUES, Jose ARIAS, Mauricio GUTIERREZ, Aleides GONZALEZ, Enrique  PL RODRIGUEZ, Carlos WHITMARSH.  In Puerto Rico: Raul ARRAZCAETA.  In Cuba:  Jorge SANCHEZ (nephew of Dr. GARCERAN), "FERNANDEZ", Angel ESTEVEZ, Perico SANCHEZ.

II.  HISTORY

Founded in latter part 1959 or early 1960 under leadership Dr. Julio GARCERAN (now head P-GCC).  Active in guerrilla activities, sabotage, and propaganda.  July 62 attempting unite guerrilla forces in Cuba under "liberation army" which to be headed by P-GCC.  Planned unite all anti-CASTRO movements supporting 1940 Constitution under name Constitutional Unity.  Reportedly not telling subscribers that this to be under leadership Dr. Julio GARCERAN. Claim have successfully organized guerrilla forces in Habana, Matanzas and Camaguey provinces.  Guerrillas have burned busses, intercepted bus load militia killing four, and executed "stool pigeon."

III. CURRENT STATUS

 Inside organization without funds and supplies.  Estimate they have 600 men in Matanzas province.  Early Sept. 62 some JAR leaders in Matanzas arrested and most of members in Las Villas arrested.  G-2 attempting locate SANCHEZ who stated organization still functioning but things getting tougher every day.
