Totalitarian, leftist program including nationalization of
industry,
virtual abolition of private ownership. Only one known
representative outside Cuba. Inside organization
highly suspect,
either as G-2 creature or as thoroughly penetrated.
Military
background. Two branches claimed inside: Civic
Resistance
and Clandestine Army. Denies political connection, and
wishes to
remain out of politics. Opposed to the CRC.
Leading Personalities: In U. S. Salvador TORRES
Morales. In
Cuba: Jorge RUIZ Segura (war name); Lucio FLAVIO (war
name);
Seneca LUCAS (war name); Julio LOPEZ (war name); Jose
Antonio VILLAMIL
Arias; Pedro GONZALEZ.
II. HISTORY
Claims membership of former and present members of Rebel
Army and
militia. MRP feared FAL, as the FAL too interested in
knowing
about other organizations, and in June 63 MRP was attempting
to arrange
test.
III. CURRENT STATUS
FAL was active in planned August "uprising", and any
legitimate members
were doubtless rounded up. GOC [Gov of Cuba] claimed
six FAL
members were executed as a result.
