PART II:  SECONDARY ORGANIZATIONS

I. IDENTIFYING DATA:

Common Title:  F. A. C. E.

Title:     Fuerzas Armadas de Cuba En El Exilio
              Armed Forces of Cuba in Exile

Political:  Military orientation with possible Batista flavor.  Anti-Communist; favor the Cuban Constitution of 1940; publicly deny alignment with any exile group or leader, but at disposal of any government approved by the Cuban people and recognized by the American democracies.  Includes military officers of Batista regime, who though not loyal to Batista, might support another rightist regime.

Leading Personalities:  Dr. Ruben de LEON Garcia, Coordinator, former Defense Minister under PRIO, worked in underground against both Batista and Castro; General Martin DIAZ Tamayo, Mil. Coord.; Maj. Jorge GUTIERREZ, delegate in Washington, D. C.; Gen. Jorge GARCIA Tunon; Col.. Daniel G. MARTINEZ  Mora; Col. Jose D. FERRER Guerra; Cdte. Juan M. BATISTA Tamayo; Cdte. Jose M. CASTILLO H.; Cdte. Tulio FIGAROLA Infante; Cdo. Nicolas CARTAYA Gomez; Cdo Joaquin Varela Canosa; Capt. Luis MORALES Patino; Sgt. Jose R. PEREZ, representative in Tampa.

II. HISTORY

April 1962 sought aid in Washington for sabotage plans.  May 1962 offered support "Commando 100 (ICCC)  if latter would join FACE; July 1962,Gen. DIAZ Tamayo alleged to have  stated the U. S. Government would entrust FACE with maintaining public order if a liberated Cuba; A. L. C. claims ACE is a "related" organization, but as of July 1962 no formal affiliation had taken place; April 1962 DIAZ Tamayo and Garcia Tunon attended meeting to discuss formation of GARCERAN government in exile.

II.  CURRENT STATUS

Claim plans for sabotage commando operations; claim to have delegates in Latin American countries; DE LEON claims …contacts to which he reported in August 1962 when he was contacted by Col... concerning plans for the formation of Cuban Military forces in Latin America…
