PART II:  SECONDARY ORGANIZATIONS

I. IDENTIFYING DATA:

Common Title:  CTCE

Title:   Confederacion de Trabajadores de Cuba en Exilio
            Confederation of Cuban Workers in Exile

Anti-Communist.  Opposed to CRC.  Supports Dr. Julio GARCERAN and PGCC.  Confederation of exiled industry workers.  Leader:  Eusebio MUJAL Barniol

II.  HISTORY

Began in Cuba prior to 1933 as labor movement; unions were formed within labor movement and later federations of industries were founded.  CTC was created to pull together unions and federations.  During the founding of industrial federations.  Communist Party organized directing cadres and gained control of Cuban labor.  Circa 1947 Communist Party control was broken and CTC continued in existence during GRAU and BATISTA regimes.  CTC Exile established in 1959.  CTC's clandestine arm and resistance organization.  MOA, maintains contact in various labor unions so that in event of invasion, it can move in and take over factories and unions in order to protect against destruction.  MOA has been estimated to have some control over 70% of the 33 Cuban labor federations.  MUJAL is CRC and MOA exile chief; inside chief is Antonio BOSQUES Ramos, residing in Marianao.

III. CURRENT STATUS

MUJAL continues to head CTC in Exile and divides his time between Miami and Washington, D. C.  Maintains excellent relationships with several influential American labor leaders.  Main objective of CTCE is to remain alert and ready to participate in any activity inside Cuba at the appropriate time.  Has contacts with workers inside and is working toward time when a general strike can be called to assist on overthrow of present regime.
