I. IDENTIFYING DATA:
Common Title: B. I. L. A.
Title: Buro Internacional de la Legion Anticomunista
International Bureau Anti-Communist Legion
Political orientation same as "AUTENTICA". Leader in exile has tried
unite anti-communist groups and anti-Batista sympathizers.
Attempted have ex-Pres. Carlos PRIO Socarras join BILA but he
refused. Basic principles not known. Members broken into
three categories: 1) secret agents; 2) investigators (200 these
two categories); 3) members (claim 300 this category). Attitude:
Contrary to CRC but approve of some adherents to CRC.
Leading Personalities: In U. S.: Alfredo WOITASCEK, Chief
in Exile; Froilan R. CASTELLANOS; Dr. Francisco RAMOS; Miguel
ASTIAZARIAN, (Director PNCE); Silvia SOUTO; Camilo Craciano CORTES
Silvera; Orlando TORRES; Raul ARANGO de la Noval (President PNCE);
Julio Warterio DARNAS Darnas; Adelina JUBERT Garcia; Manuel
GARCIA; Juan Montes Quintana; and Luis DE PAZOS Carril.
II. HISTORY
Organized: Inscribed in California 25 April 1955 and in
Cuba. (Laws in English and Spanish). Has never directed,
and has no plans, for clandestine activity. Claim to function in
Cuba against Castro.
III. CURRENT STATUS
In process of preparing plan of action: Intent to print and
circulate list of all pro-Castro personalities in order to expose them.
