II. HISTORY
In existence prior to CASTRO regime as Cuban Catholic
University
student organization. Mid 1958 began opposing CASTRO.
Nov. 1959,
under ARTIME's leadership majority of CACO membership joined
with Rebel
Army office group to become MRR. Initial leaders of
MDC and DRE
originally ACU members. Minority group of ACU
apparently
continued as entity, but collaborated with MRR, MDC, and
MRP.
III. CURRENT STATUS
No indication of current activities of membership other than
report
concerning July 1962 reorganization of MDC, which indicated
one
Ambrosio GONZALEZ del Valle, president of ACU, was member of
MDC
Representative, Committee.
