ROLANDO MASFERRER
FBI Employee?
Domestic Intelligence Division
INFORMATIVE NOTE
Date: 1/9/67
Masferrer is notorious Cuba exile and former Cuban Senator, long a
leader in unsuccessful efforts to organize exile invasions of Haiti
from U.S. for avowed purpose of using Haiti as base for attack on
Castro Cuba. Customs Bureau has had activities of Masferrer
under intensive investigation which culminated in Customs' arrest on
11/2/67 of Masferrer and 75 Cuban and Haitian exiles and American
mercenaries at Marathon, Florida. All were charged with
attempting to export arms illegally (T.18, Sec. 1934) and all are
awaiting trial. [ see Project Nassau ]
Masferrer most definitely does not nor has he ever "worked for the
FBI." He has been repeatedly warned to refrain from so stating or
implying.
Masferrer has in the past made false claims of having U.S. Government
sanction in the course of his efforts to recruit personnel for his
invasion forces.
