Gerald P. Hemming Jr.

Gerald Patrick Hemming Jr., 70, of Fayetteville, has made his final trip. He served in the United States Marine Corps (1954-1958), Cuban Rebel Army (1958-1960), Brigada 2506 and 12th/20th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He received numerous awards and citations from foreign dignitaries and governments over his career.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and their six children (five daughters and a son). He has 14 surviving grandchildren, six surviving siblings, an extended network of friends and family throughout the world. He will be missed by everyone who came in contact with him throughout his lifetime.

Services with military honors will be at the graveside on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at 1400 (2p.m.) in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
