UPDATE NO: CIB-306 [poss number error]
DATE: June 30, 1995
DETECTIVE: L. Rodriguez
TELEPHONE: [deleted]

The following information has been received by this office:

On June 29, 1995, the COMITE UNIDO (United Committee), a coalition of anti-Castro exile organizations which includes such groups as Brigade 2506 and the CUBAN NATIONAL COMMISSION, met at BRIGADE 2506 and the CUBAN NATIONAL COMMISSION, met at BRIGADE 2506 headquarters and discussed several possibilities for demonstrations to concur with the arrival of President William Clinton to South Florida.

According to BRIGADE 2506 president Jose Lopez-Miro, the COMITE UNIDO will conduct a peaceful demonstration near the vicinity of the Biltmore Hotel in the city of Coral Gables.  Lopez-Miro added that this event is conducted in order to demonstrate the discontent of the Cuban exile community with recent changes in U.S. migratory policies concerning Cuba.

The event will be held on Friday, June 30, 1995, at approximately 6:00 p.m. and will come to a closing at approximately 8:00 p.m.  An estimated number of participants cannot be provided at present time due to a lack of preparation by organization coordinators and obvious time constraints.

In addition, preliminary information has revealed the possibility of a secondary demonstration by UNIDAD CUBANA (Cuban Unity, a convergence of Cuban exile anti-Castro organizations).  Said demonstration is expected to occur on this day at approximately 6:00 p.m., near the intersection of LeJeune Road and N.W. 7 Street.  Organization members are presently seeking to obtain a demonstration permit from City of Miami Police Dept. Special Events.

Additional information on either event will be provided in an expeditious manner upon receipt.
