ANTI-AMERICAN MEETING
A leader of the Cuban Exile Educator Organization, was contacted by this office on April 30, 1998, in regards to the participation of it's members in a demonstration.
The leader revealed that the described demonstration was planned in response to what he termed an "anti-American" meeting; however, he added that demonstrators attending this activity would abide by all laws and would not disrupt this symposium.
The leader further stated that various other Cuban exile groups, such as the WORLD FEDERATION OF POLITICAL PRISONERS, UNIDAD CUBANA and THE CUBAN PATRIOTIC CONVERGENCE, would be represented at the symposium. Approximately 80-120 demonstrators attended.
The head of the ALLIANCE OF CUBAN EXILE COMMUNITY WORKERS (one of the organizations responsible for the symposium), advised that approximately 150-200 associates attended.
The groups who partook in this affair profess opposing political philosophies and have been historically hostile towards each other.
