CUBAN EXILE ORGANIZATIONS HELD A PRESS CONFERENCE

On July 2, 1998 at 10:30 a.m., a press conference was called by the following Cuban-American organizations: The Antonio Maceo Brigade, the Alliance of workers of the Cuban community (AT), Restate Cultural Afrocubano, Amerindia (Los Angeles); and the Multiethnic Miami Coalition against the Embargo of Cuba and the National Organization Movimiento Latino USA.

The purpose of the press conference was to:
Denounce the immoral trafficking of illegal Cuban immigrants into the U.S. by persons only interested in the money involved.

Demand the immediate end of all unconstitutional travel restrictions to Cuba imposed by the U.S. Government on Cuban-Americans and all other U.S. citizens and residents.

Urge the administration and the congress to guarantee all immigrants in the U.S. full education, medical, social security and employment rights.
