Vigil for Dead on "13 the Marzo"

CUBAN EXILES HELD VIGIL IN HONOR OF 42 CUBANS KILLED AT SEA

On July 13, 1998, at 10:00 p.m., there was a vigil at Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church located at 3609 South Miami Avenue, to commemorate the death of the 42 Cubans who were killed on July 13, 1994.  The Cubans were killed when a Cuban Government rammed and sank the tugboat, "13 the Marzo" (13th of March).

The vigil was organized by the following Anti Castro Organizations: Accion Democracia Cubana (Democratic Cuban Action), Agenda Cuba, Partido Independista (Independent Party) and Movimiento Democracia (Democratic Movement).  There were 42 children carrying crosses containing the names of the deceased Cubans.
