INTELLIGENCE UNIT

UPDATE NO: CIB-96-64
DATE:     October 31, 1996
DETECTIVE: L. Rodriguez
TELEPHONE: [deleted]

On October 26 & 27, 1996, a group of Cuban exiles that identified themselves as friends and relatives of Cuban refugees being held at the Krome Detention Center, conducted a demonstration at that site.  The aforementioned group seeks the release of the aforementioned persons and are not affiliated with any of the traditional Cuban exile organizations.

To date, it is undetermined whether said group will continue to conduct impromptu demonstrations at the Krome Detention Center even though several demonstrators revealed their intention to return to the site and conduct other protests in the near future.

As a result of the informality of these protests, the Criminal Intelligence Bureau may not be able to forewarn the concerned districts in regards to these type of demonstrations.  Any additional information will be forwarded in an expeditious manner.
