Cuban Exiles Demonstrate Against FAA[MIAMI-DADE POLICE DEPARTMENT]

TELEPHONE: [deleted]On Thursday, April 30, 1996, commencing at 4:00 p.m., Brothers to the Rescue, Mothers Against Repression (MAR), and a consortium of Cuban exile anti-Castro organizations will be demonstrating at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), located at 7500 N.W. 58th Street, Miami, Florida.
The purpose for this event is to express dissatisfaction with the current decision of the FAA to suspend Jose Basulto's pilot license.
According to main organizers of the demonstration, approximately 300 participants are expected.
Doral district has been notified of the event.
The Criminal Intelligence Bureau will continued to monitor the event and disseminate any new information expeditiously.
MOTHERS AGAINST REPRESSIONSilvia Iriondo stated that her organization would not partake in any active demonstrations at Olympic site: however, some of its members would attend the Orange Bowl site while wearing the previously mentioned T-shirts. Iriondo revealed that such garments would be worn as a silent statement against ongoing repression within Cuba.
BROTHERS TO THE RESCUE
Humberto Sanchez advised that his organization will not partake in any local demonstrations throughout the extent of the Olympic games.
Newspaper sources have quoted group leader Jose Basulto as stating that his organization will conduct a peaceful demonstration at Atlanta during the course of the games.
CONCILIO CUBANA INC.
Gladys Peres revealed that to date, her organization does not have any plans for local or out of state demonstrations in connection to the Olympic games.
CUBAN AMERICAN NATIONAL FOUNDATION
No present plans for local demonstrations.
DEMOCRACIA
Fernando Mirabal revealed that to date no such plans exist; however, a meeting will be held on 07/20/96 and plans for demonstrations, either locally or at Atlanta, may be discussed at the time.
AGENDA CUBA
No present plans for local demonstrations.
UNIDAD CUBANA
Fernando Cepero revealed that to date, his organization has not planned any demonstrations at either site.
The criminal intelligence will continue to monitor the event and disseminate any new information expeditiously.
