MIAMI POLICE MEMO
BRESLOW to FILE
MAY 18, 1976

CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM

TO: File

FROM: Major Herbert Breslow
Commander
Special Investigation Section

DATE: May 18, 1976

SUBJECT: Francisco CHAVEZ
aka Frank Chavez

REFERENCES: [none]

ENCLOSURES: [none]
----------------------------------------------------------

Received a telephone call from San Jaffe, who is a reporter for News Service International.

Mr. Jaffe informed me that he was interested in Francisco CHAVEZ who was killed in Puerto Rico, and that he received information from Frank BIANCO, a former New York Police Department Intelligence Officer, that CHAVEZ was possible connected with the Kennedy assassination.

Mr. Jaffe stated that he received information from an F.B.I. Agent that MPD Intelligence had some information to this effect in their files.  This writer informed Mr. Jaffe that due to security and privacy laws, that it has been the policy of this Section not to divulge any information of an intelligence nature to any of the media on or off the record.

A perusal of our files indicates one Frank CHAVEZ in File 4A-104-4, which does not appear to have anything to do with the Kennedy assassination.

This is the third reporter to contact the writer in reference to information on the Kennedy assassination.  Other reporters have received the same answer.
