On March 28, 1967 I was contacted by Mr. Joe Aberell of
Channel 4, WTVJ,
in reference to Mr.
William
Somerset, a local union organizer, well-known to this
office.
Mr. Somerset was to go on Channel 4, Ralph Renick's program
on March 28,
1967 at 6.00 P.M. in regards to the Kennedy assassination
taped with this
unit 11/9/63. Somerset appeared on Renick's program
through some agreement
he had made through WTVJ, unbeknown to us.
Mr. Aberell contacted me and stated that Mr. Renick had
called Chief Headley
in regards to WTVJ obtaining a copy of our tape and I was
informed that Chief
Headley gave his permission for a copy to be given to Mr.
Renick.
On March 29, 1967 I confirmed this with Chief Headley who
authorized the
release of a copy of the tape to WTVJ for future use on a
news program.
On this date a Mr. Aberell came by this unit and picked up a
copy of the
tape.
