On this date a Mr. Joe Aberell, News Coordinator of Channel
4, WTVJ, came
to this office and began discussion on the JOHN KENNEDY
ASSASSINATION tape
we had made with an informer Nov. 9, 1963.
Mr. Aberell wished to hear this tape with the possibility of
using it on
an upcoming program they are putting together in regards to
the investigation
of the Kennedy assassination.
I took Mr. Aberell in to see Chief Headley and his approval
of the replaying
of the tape to this news commentator was obtained.
P.M. this date this tape was played to Mr. Aberell.
Several weeks back, with permission, by this tape had been
played to all
news media, radio TV, etc. by Major Gracey.
Mr. Aberell stated that he had been talking to a Mr.
William
Sommerset, who
had directed him to this writer in regards to the recording.
Mr. Aberell requested a copy of this tape, which I refused
until permission
is obtained from Lieut. Swilley and Chief W.E. Headley.
